When it comes to passwords, most of us go for something short, simple, and memorable. However, those descriptions for choosing a password put you at risk for being hacked. Follow these password management tips in order to keep yourself safe while using the internet.

1. Don’t use the same password for multiple accounts and platforms. Choose a unique password instead — especially for websites with and services that will store sensitive data (i.e. banking website).
2. Try to have 8 to 10 characters in your password including letters, numbers, and special characters when allowed.
3. Refrain from using relatively easy to find information in your passwords such  as your kid’s names or your birthday. 
4. Try out a password management service such as OnePassword or LastPass to store and generate unique passwords for your accounts. Password management services make it easier to keep up with secure passwords.
